Want to start a conversation online? Why not ask a question?
That’s easier with a new feature that is now being offered by Squidoo, the social media website that lets users create pages (called lenses) for subjects of interest. The new service is called TWTTRSTRM.
In a nutshell- TWTTRSTRM allows you to ask a question of your Twitter followers and easily gather all their answers in one spot. Here’s the question I posed using TWTTRSTRM: What’s the biggest goof or blunder you’ve ever made with social media?
It’s really simple. You go to Squidoo’s TWTTRSTRM page and you fill in 5 things (see the screenshot below):
- Your question
- Your Twitter UserName
- A tracker keyword or hashtag for your TWTTRSTRM
- Select a category for your TWTTRSTRM from a drop-down
- Pick a keyword or tag to describe your topic
After you click the Build My TWTTRSTRM! button, a page will be created for your TWTTRSTRM question. Here’s my below. (If you don’t have a Squidoo account yet, you’ll be prompted to set one up).
There’s a button in the upper right hand corner of your TWTTRSTRM page that you can use to Tweet your question to your Twitter account. Your TWTTRSTRM page collects all of the responses to your question, provides links to relevant posts around the web (mine automatically provided a link to our Superlist of What Not To Do in Social Media , and a list of your most recent Twitter updates.
So go ahead, ask a question……you might just start a worthwhile conversation!
And please answer my question and share your own social media blunders. If I get any really good ones, I’d like to add them to my Superlist of What Not To Do In Social Media (names withheld, or course!)
